Sweden leads UN reform proposal with three G77 countries

Sweden has joined forces with three G77 countries and proposed far-reaching changes in management of the UN Secretariat.
The Four Nations Initiatives, which also includes Chile, South Africa and Thailand, is calling for merit-based appointments of staff, public hearings for top job appointments and peer reviews of agencies to nurture best practice in the UN.
